Welp, if you thought the wild ecosystem that developed in my absence last time was bad*, I hope you brought a machete to hack your way through all that Life Complication Kudzu this time around, because BOY HOWDY.
I'm so sorry for vanishing off the face of the DeviantART earth again. For a year. Or two. >_> I have a whole list of excuses, but they don't seem that good. I actually started writing explanatory journal entries a few times over this interim, but they always wound up rambling and talking about my feelings and sometimes getting sort of personal, so I just...never finished or posted them. But the gist of it is that there were several places online that didn't feel like home any more, and that, paired with Real Life stuff (including but not limited to: job hunting woes, part-time job, traveling, and health problems)... Well, suffice to say that my former routine that included DA got kind of sideswiped. xD
I'm doing well overall, though, and some really cool stuff has also happened! Things still aren't quite settled, but I've missed you guys and have wanted to come back for a while. I've got a ton of your awesome art to catch up on! ^^ Just skimming through, I can see you've been busy with amazing things.
And I've also got some art to share with you, too. Kind of a lot, really, but not as much as there ought to be. I'll probably start with sharing some stuff from a couple years ago that I apparently never posted. Then I'll chronologically move forward, including what I have of that 10k drawing I promised ages ago but never finished. (Once I post the WIP, I think you'll understand why it never got completed, because I bit off wayyy more than I could chew. xD) And after most of that's been posted, I will then completely spam your inboxes with Pokecember drawings because I did a bunch of those challenges this past December. 8D;;; (I apologize in advance.)
Also, I owe you guys one incredibly massive sketchbook spam collection. <3
Also also, if you're still curious about that Neopian Anomaly story arc I keep mentioning, it's still on the back burner of my mind! I wouldn't hold your breath for it, though, unfortunately. I'd say its current status is filed under "Script Complete" and "Trying to Figure Out New Art Program." But also because of the aforementioned Life Madness, I am...many months behind in reading the Neopian Times. I admit it's kind of awful. @_@ But nothing gets me more excited to draw NA than reading other people's entries in the NT, so that's on my To Do List, too. ^^ (If I have enough space, I hope to lampshade my comic's hiatus. xD)
Also also also, another time-eater I have to confess is that I finally got a Tumblr account. xD I don't post too much art there, and it's mostly reblogs that I enjoy, but you're welcome to find me as Sylphscope if that's your thing. ^^ I'm still finding people there. (Though be warned about strong language, etc., 'cause, y'know, it is Tumblr and all.)
OKAY, my rambling is done! HOW ARE YOU? I've been gone so long that I don't even know who all is still here. Who am I rambling to? Please say hi!! I've missed you and would love to hear how you've been. ^__^ I hope you've all been hanging in there and are doing well!

*whisper* Hi! It's good to see you, too. But ssshhhhh, not so loud, we've got to be quiet. An entire ecosystem has developed on my DeviantART page in my absence. See those spiders building webs on my latest deviation? I hear they're a new breed. Very valuable for science. Thanks in part to their diet of mutant mosquitoes, their webs are so powerful that they can trap artist's block.
And see the lichen growing on my Random Favourites? It's bioluminescent, but only when no one is paying attention to it. Please don't lean on it, it might be radioactive, just so you know.
And on my webcam, that vine is--H-hey, careful there! You almost squashed that poor Brainstorm Beetle! Someday it'll really do something great, but first it has to meet others of its kind.
Okay, okay, settle down. I'm sure we can all coexist. You're probably wondering where I went. I don't blame you. I just hope you weren't around during that interim before the Idea Gnats evolved into their current non-venomous variety.
So, succinctly--lack of DA artistic motivation, plus internship, plus relatives, plus craft fair, plus NTWF events, plus travel--equals MUCH MADNESS.
Mostly good madness, if it helps. Still, I apologize for vanishing off the face of the (DeviantART) earth. I've missed seeing the awesome art from you guys! <3 I won't make any promises for being consistently active, but I will at least try not to feel like I can't come back to DA until after I apologize profusely. xD
On the art front, I haven't forgotten about the 10k drawing I promised, but let's just say that by the time I get around to finishing it, I don't think it'll be a 10k drawing any more, and it'll just be a big, happy Thank You drawing. ^^
Also, if you've been wondering/worrying about the state of my Neopian Anomaly comics (The last one was from Halloween last year, geez.), I have what are hopefully exciting plans? I'm working on another arc, but this one is longer and much more complicated than the Lost in the Haunted Woods arc. I'm still scripting, but with a little luck and a ton of time and effort, hopefully it'll be worth the wait. I'm pretty pumped about the story, to be honest! Let's hope I'm up for it.
Let's see, I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton of things to tell you. I feel like so much has happened, and I'm so very out of DA loop. xD So please do talk to me! I hope you've all been rockin' 2014! But how are you? How is life? What news from your end of the woods?? ^^

I hope life is treating you well. I'm doing pretty well, though with my share of ups and downs. ^_^I just wanted to let you all know that I have not forgotten about that picture to celebrate 10k pageviews. It's just that, in addition to real life stuff, the picture has, uh, snowballed. I decided to go with some of the suggestions, and I started planning out which characters to draw and interact with each other. It began innocently. For example, I wanted to see So-and-so character talking with Such-and-such character, but then I simply could not JUST have So-and-so without his best buddy So-on-and-so-forth, and I can't have So-on-and-so-forth without the rest of the main cast, and--...
...You get the idea. XD So, unless I cut out some characters

"I've been here, I've just been in and out. How is everyone doing? How have you been doing?"

"Oh... Sorry about that. But I really liked that poem! And nothing really seemed new-journal-worthy, even though I've been busy."
"You'll have to do better than that."
"What do you mean?"
"You utterly fail to update your journal in eight months, and you fall behind in commenting on people's artwork, and you come back here, and you have the nerve to tritely say, 'Oh, sorry, I've been busy.' You can't honestly expect everyone to believe that."
"You mean people are still reading this journal?"
"Not the point! You must have done something noteworthy in eight months."
"Well... It's probably boring."
"We'll be the judges of that."
"Uhh...alright. I'm still job hunting. And still been doing that volunteer job-thing at the museum, which is super cool."
"Lovely. You must have done something else."
"Those two things take up a surprising amount of time!"

"Be that as it may. Anyway, in February, I finished this big story I've been writing on and off for years. And...and I've been to doctor's appointments, a wedding, a family road trip, a festival... I had some art in an art show, and I participated in some awesome (and mildly life-consuming) events on the NTWF, and I got to meet some really cool people. My family went to the beach for a short vacation (and I got an awful shoulder sunburn), and--OH! I unfortunately had to get braces on my lower teeth, again. Blech. But I tried to get glow-in-the-dark O-rings for them, and it'll be for less than a year this time, so I guess it'll be okay. Just an annoyance on top of everything else. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of important events, though. ....Does THAT answer your question, Journal?"
"Huh, what? Sorry, I stopped listening after 'doctor's appointments.' "
